This documentary is a pure record of an event. Cantonese opera troupes worship the god Wah Kong, every year they build temporary theatres and put on performances to thank him on his birthday. In August 1966, the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong organized a Wah Kong Birthday Theatrical Festival, a huge cast of stars participated, even the audience is star-studded. This film records the actual performances onstage and backstage activities, the two repertoires performed that year were  Enlightenment of the Goddess of Mercy and Grand Birthday Celebration at Mount Heung Fa , many traditional formulaic stage blocking, choreography, folk acrobatics like the human pyramid and dragon dance are preserved in the film as well, which is particularly significant to those studying Cantonese opera of that era.
