Co-organised by Oi! and School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, ‘Connectivity! Urban Arc-tion/ Re-arc-tion' was a research-based urban classroom project that offered a platform for art and architecture in community. This project empowered communities along the Oil Street of North Point and the vicinity to make collective improvements in creating urban ideas and works in place.
Oi! became a platform for social engagement with local neighbourhoods from September 2013 to June 2015. A series of workshops from ‘Green the Community' to ‘Assembly Studio' were launched to arouse community's interest in and awareness of urban space.
Through the co-creation of community members, ‘Celebrating Community Kitchen' applied the concept of knowledge-transfer. Oi! was transformed into a platform to encourage the community members for contributing their knowledge and skills back to the community. Knowledge was used to expand and connect the community.
This project also introduced the over-arching concept of ‘Empathy City', aroused public awareness in city spaces and fostered a sense of belonging to the city through various vicarious experiences.
