Co-organised by Oi! and School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
"Connectivity! Urban Re-arc-tion" is an urban classroom project that offers a platform for art and architecture in community. Classrooms are like active cells in the city, not just within schools. This project will empower communities along the Oil Street of North Point and the vicinity to make collective improvements in creating urban ideas and works in place.
"Empathy City" exploring programmes
From "Celebrating Community Kitchen" at Oi! to "Exploring Our City", a series of workshops, seminars and exhibit installations will be conducted to explore the over-arching concept of "Empathy City", which is presumably a utopian state of the social imagination where mutual understanding and genuine communication between different social groups are enabled by the vicarious experience of the feelings of one another. Participants will be challenged to reflect and search for the ideal intra-city relations, favourable social conditions and available means to construct and incubate an empathy city.
"Empathy City: Hong Kong Architecture of the Century" Exhibition
It is a campaign that aims to enrich the general public's appreciation of the built environment. Through public voting and a series of related events including public lectures, guided tours, education and young people's events, it is hoped that the participants can understand more about the historical, social, economic, artistic and cultural evolution and development of our city, better recognize the essence of our place and foster our sense of belongings to the city.
