Before Shaw Brothers’ introduction of neomartial arts style in mandarin films production, Yueh’s pioneering chivalric films had already been well-known. He sometimes criticized the blood lust of neo-style martial arts films. The story is about a girl (Cheng Peipei) and her brother (Chin Han) whose parents have been murdered. The girl is resolved to avenge her parents but the brother hesitates because revenges will never come to an end. He Lanshan (aka Nishimoto Tadashi)’s cinematography has magically turned the familiar scenes of Clear Water Bay into a loess plateau. The music scores by Wang Fuling are composed as beautiful and lively as folk songs. It was released shortly before One-Armed Swordsman during the 1967 Riot.
