Winged-petiole Dillenia is an evergreen tree which can be found in Malaysia and Australia.

Rarely found in Hong Kong, Winged-petiole Dillenia is a handsome tree suitable for growing in gardens and along roadsides.  The tree has a spreading crown and a straight trunk, with loose, papery bark which is bright reddish brown in colour.  With large and showy flowers, the tree also bears big red edible fruits which are used by the Australian aborigines to relieve swelling of punctured wounds.

At around 100 years of age, this tree has a height of 13 m, a crown spread of 9 m and a DBH of 800 mm.
