Arrangements for Holidays / Class Suspension / Inclement Weather

1. Classes will be suspended and postponed on the following days (gazetted general holidays are marked with *). No separate notifications will be issued.

 

Phase 57 (Sep 2025 – Feb 2026)

i.   1 October 2025 * Wed National Day
ii.   7 October 2025 * Tue The day following the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival
iii.   29 October 2025 * Wed Chung Yeung Festival
iv.   21 December 2025 Sun Winter Solstice
v.   25 December 2025 * Thu Christmas Day
vi   26 December 2025 * Fri The first weekday after Christmas Day
vii.   31 December 2025 Wed New Year's Eve
viii.   1 January 2026 * Thu New Year's Day
ix.   16 February 2026 Mon Lunar New Year's Eve
x.   17 February 2026 * Tue Lunar New Year's Day
xi.   18 February 2026 * Wed The second day of Lunar New Year
xii.   19 February 2026 * Thu The third day of Lunar New Year

 

2. Classes will be suspended and postponed when an instructor is absent due to illness or an emergency, and no substitute can be arranged by the Music Office.

 

3. Classes will be postponed or changed to another venue when classrooms cannot be made available by the teaching venue concerned. If a venue is suddenly closed due to an emergency, the Music Office will inform the trainees through SMS as soon as possible. The Music Office will not arrange another make-up class or refund for individual trainee who is unable to attend the scheduled make-up class.

 

4. All on-site and online classes will be cancelled without notification if any of the following situation arises/ has arisen anytime within the three-hour period before class‡:

i. Red/ Black Rainstorm Warning; or

ii. “Pre-no.8 Special Announcement” (as announced by the Hong Kong Observatory on its "Status of Pre-no.8 Special Announcement" webpage); or

iii. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above; or

iv. "Extreme conditions" as announced by the Government.


Classes will be conducted as scheduled if the above-mentioned situation ceases three hours before class (e.g. if the typhoon signal is lowered at 2pm, classes starting before 5pm will be cancelled while classes starting from 5pm and onwards will be held as usual).


‡ No make-up class or refund will be arranged for classes cancelled due to inclement weather. Instructors will adjust the teaching plan accordingly.
