Bertha Kum

Bertha Kum

Before furthering her studies in the United Kingdom, Bertha Kum earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). Apart from taking piano as her major instrument with distinction of LTCL performance diploma, she came under the tutelage of Wong Kin-yu in HKBU and passed grade 8 organ examination. She also learned singing and the pipa.

Kum graduated from the Royal College of Music, London in 2019 with a master’s degree in performance science. While in London she joined the church choir of St. Luke’s, Chelsea and studied organ with Margaret Phillips. She is now serving Shing Kung Hui Kei Oi Church and Church of Shalom as an organist.


Jason Tang

Jason Tang

Jason Tang is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying organ performance with David Titterington, and choral conducting with Patrick Russill under full scholarship. Previous teachers include Dr. Helon Kwan and Wai-chung Wong.

Tang was one of the six participants admitted to the 52nd International Organ Festival Haarlem Young Talent Programme in 2018. In this high-level programme he had the privilege to study with world-acclaimed organ professors including Leo van Doeselaar, Lorenzo Ghelmi, Jean-Baptiste Robin, Ben van Oosten and Louis Robilliard. He was also one of the Associates in Festival Operations for the 31st St Albans International Organ Festival.

Tang is an Associate of the Trinity College of London and a recipient of the Eric Thompson Trust and Norman Askew Prize for his studentship and contribution to the Academy. He has been involved in the Bach the European Series directed by Rachel Podger at the Royal Academy of Music. He is currently serving in Christ Church, Spitalfields in London as an organist.


Shirley Yoeng

Shirley Yoeng

Shirley Yoeng began to play the piano at early age and obtained the licentiate of Trinity College London in piano performance in teenage years. She studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where she started learning the organ with Wong Kin-yu, and received her bachelor degree in information engineering and minoring in music.

Yoeng was awarded the fellowship of Trinity College London in organ performance. She has also given organ recitals at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, and participated in the master classes by the world-renowned organists, including Olivier Latry, Thierry Escaich and David Graham etc. Yoeng is currently a project engineer at a leading telecom company.

Free tickets will be given out, limited to two per person, on a first-come first-served basis at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre enquiries counter between 9am and 9pm starting from 10 December (Fri). Children aged 6 and above are welcome. The programme lasts approximately 40 minutes without intermission.
