Hong Kong Cultural Centre (left), Hong Kong Space Museum (centre) and the Hong Kong Museum of Art (right) are major cultural venues of the department. The first Cantonese Opera Day kicks off at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The Hong Kong Cultural Centre is a regular rehearsal base for the Hong Kong Ballet. The CLP Lights Up Hong Kong 2003 provides a spectacular scene above the Cultural Centre Piazza. Colourful lanterns light up the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza during the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival.
