Orion and the deep sky objects around
Andreo started exploring astrophotography as a hobby in 2008 and developed a personal style defined by deep wide field images that has led to international recognition and a meaningful and profound influence on the discipline. His work has been featured on NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day over sixty times, published in international magazines, exhibitions, movies and television programmes. Rather than simply trying to obtain a great image, Andreo constantly challenges himself to ensure that the final picture connects with the viewer, by experimenting with new processing techniques and new compositions. Interestingly, Andreo does not have a permanent observatory and his imaging requires extensive traveling to dark sites.
In the lecture, he will explain how he continues the passion he started 12 years ago, using his amateur telescopes to create ultra-deep images, how such images contribute to scientific research and produce deep-sky vistas never seen before. Also, he will tell us about his nightscape photography work, packed with images that attract worldwide attention on the internet.
