"Tea, Ceramics, Joy" Exhibition

"Tea, Ceramics, Joy" Exhibition

Tea, which is grown in both mountains and valleys, refreshes you with the taste of nature's beauty. Enjoying good tea served in fine tea ware is a pleasurable experience. Pottery is the best material for tea ware. It neither takes away the tea's aroma nor delays its taste.

As part of the mission of the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware to foster tea-drinking culture and enhance creativity in the art of pottery, the Competition of Tea Ware by Hong Kong Potters has been organised nine times since 1986. The aim of the competition is to stimulate general awareness and interest in tea drinking and ceramic art in Hong Kong.

The exhibition captured 31 works from past award-winners and participants. The sets are categorized under seven main themes, including animals, plants, classics, texture, geometric forms, innovation, and others, in order to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy a different experience of tea drinking through creative tea ware.
