The project idea of ‘Light in Progress' derives from the 19th century photography terminology. At the birth of photography, it was often referred as ‘painting with light' because of its intrinsic function of documenting all creation by light. Compared with the contemporary era of mechanical and digital images, the old saying conveys the essence of photography.
Artist South Ho worked with light and images through rediscovering the overlooked details, sometimes with the company of other visitors, at Oi! for three months in order to uncover the beauty of the art space from another perspective.
The photographs were published on the Facebook page of Oi! and compiled into a book with the same title.
