Art and the community. Feel it.
Walk it. Connect with it.
The Art Promotion Office (APO) organises public art projects that are designed to relate to and identify with local communities in Hong Kong. We explore artistic possibilities beyond our traditional art venues as a way to encourage the public to interact with the arts anywhere and at any time. Our aim is to create spaces that inspire the imagination and establish community connections, using art as the vehicle, by highlighting the possibilities and appeal of local environments so that we can learn about our neighbourhoods and our stories in depth.
To explore Hong Kong's communities
To perceive the beauty of life through an artistic vision
Public Art Map
APO has commissioned works of public art all over Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories since 1999. They can be found in parks, libraries, theatres, government buildings and other public venues around this city. You can click on the Public Art Map below. It presents a collection of stopovers where city flâneurs can appreciate local creativity and gain an insight into the history and development of public art in Hong Kong.
Let's follow the map and set out on a journey of artistic discovery!
