
Two local talented artists take the audience on a journey through time with their piano and vocal performance, injecting jazz elements into two classical songs in musicals – Don't Rain On My Parade and Pure Imagination.
Joyce Cheung
Joyce Cheung is a jazz pianist, arranger and composer based in Hong Kong. She obtained a Master's degree in Contemporary Performance at Berklee College of Music in 2017. Since then she has maintained an active presence in Hong Kong's jazz and pop music scene. She is an artistic director at Music Lab as well as one of the co-founders of Ginger Muse, a recording label in which both of her albums Set Loose (2020) and Jazzical Collection (2022), were released under. Aside from her performing career, she also teaches the jazz programme at the Education University of Hong Kong.
Margaret Cheung
Margaret Cheung obtained a Bachelor of Creative Industries from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and a diploma from the School of Drama at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She has been frequently seen in Hong Kong musical theatre since graduation. Her wide vocal range and ability to handle all kinds of singing styles have made her one of the most sought-after actresses in the local musical theatre scene, and has worked frequently with some major local theatres. She has also worked with Hong Kong Sinfonietta numerous times, and was invited by the orchestra to present her own concert My Technicolor Childhood in 2017.
