Established in 1960, the Qingdao Song and Dance Theatre is a performing arts group that takes the entire process of staging a production from start to finish, i.e., from conceptualisation, choreography and scriptwriting, to performance. The group has taken an active part in the organization, coordinating, and the logistics of many gala events of Qingdao City. Past events include the Qingdao International Beer Festival, and the Opening Ceremony of the sailing events of the Beijing Olympic Games. It has toured to Germany, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Australia, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, conducting cultural exchange and promoting Chinese traditional culture.
