As night falls, the sultry streets and mysterious allure of Buenos Aires come alive in Hong Kong, ignited by the passion of tango. Tango After Dark elevates Argentinian tango from its cosy cabaret setting to an ultimate theatrical experience, fusing the intoxicating music of legendary composer Astor Piazzolla with breathtaking choreography and jaw-dropping moves.

Led by international tango superstar and world champion Germán Cornejo, a cast of ten top dancers performs alongside a live band that masterfully interprets Piazzolla’s revolutionary scores from different periods. This exhilarating performance captures the seductive power of Argentina’s most iconic dance, blending sensuality with quick-fire precision and pushing the boundaries of this passionate art form.

Celebrated worldwide, Tango After Dark is set to be an unforgettable evening that will keep your passion burning deep into the night.

The running time of each performance is approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes including an intermission of 15 minutes.

Members of the audience are strongly advised to arrive punctually.  Latecomers and those who leave their seats during the performance will only be admitted and allowed to return to their seats respectively during the intermission or at a suitable break.  The presenter reserves the right to refuse admission of latecomers, or determine the time and manner of admission of latecomers.

Germán Cornejo, choreographer & lead dancer of Tango Fire-Flames of Desire Smash Hit is regarded as one of the world’s best tango show choreographers and dancers today.

At the age of 10, Germán Cornejo started learning Tango, by 15 he graduated from the Gatell Conservatory of Dance with a Master of Tango degree.  Over the years, he expanded his skills in classical and contemporary ballet, jazz, and acrobatics, eventually starting to study a Master of Choreographic Composition at the National Institute of Arts.

Germán won the Gold New Talent prize in 2003 and the Competition of Gold Dance in 2005 on the popular TV show Susana Gimenez.  He became World Champion of Tango dancing in 2005 and achieved numerous other accolades, including seven gold medals in contests for youth in Buenos Aires Province.

Currently, Germán serves as the Director of Choreography and Lead Dancer in the Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires. He has his own company, Germán Cornejo Dance Company, and has created successful shows like Immortal Tango, Break The Tango, Tango After Dark, and Wild Argentina.

An introduction to the essence of tango, this class focuses on posture, embrace, and the basic steps that allow participants to immediately enjoy dancing together. No prior experience is required.

Designed for those with some experience, this class explores musicality, connection, and more complex figures, offering tools to deepen participants’ dance expression and style.

Suitable for those aged 16 or above with some Tango dance training.
