Speakers:Edward Lam, Ray Leung

Edward Lam started out as a scriptwriter for television and cinema, then moved on to avant-garde theatre and founded his own group to explore the various possibilities of the genre. His original works cover topics that range from youth to gay culture, pop culture and classical literature, an indicator of his broad interest and creative spectrum. Lam is also a columnist who takes retrospective looks at the various aspects of Hong Kong’s Cantonese cinema, chronicling the development and evolution of a whole generation of pop culture and arts and culture in Hong Kong. This upcoming talk features a dialogue between Lam and Ray Leung, who has been working with him for nearly ten years. They will look back on Lam’s personal experiences and creative works to track how Hong Kong’s arts and culture as well as pop culture have influenced each other to form the fabric of the memory of an epoch.
