Ko Chow (Chow Yun Fat) is an undercover cop who wants to return to a normal life and get married. However, he’s been assigned to embed himself in a gang of jewel thieves, led by Fu (Danny Lee Sau-yin). Ko soon realises that he is in too deep, and he is now forced to choose between his two loyalties. In one of the best dramatic performances of his career, Chow is charismatic and powerful as a tragic hero trapped in a serious ethical struggle. Like Chow, director Ringo Lam is also working at the top of his game, creating a gritty crime drama that has since become one of the most beloved films in the genre. Both Chow and Lam won Hong Kong Film Awards for their respective work on this crime classic.
