Suspension of Hiring Services at Stanley Main Beach Water Sports Centre


Owning to the Windsurfing Competition of 57th Festival of Sport, all craft hiring services at Stanley Main Beach Water Sports Centre will be suspended on 26 & 27 April 2014 (Sat & Sun). The shroff and enquiries services will remain unchanged. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Stanley Main Beach Spring Regatta 2014

Stanley Main Beach Spring Regatta 2014 will be held on 3 & 4 May 2014 (Sat, Sun) at the Stanley Main Water Sports Centre. Applicants should submit their Application Forms to the centre from 18 to 27 March 2014 in person or by post to the Stanley Main Water Sports Centre or submit application forms through internet (except the Self-own Boat / Board class). Wong Shek Kayak Race 2014

Wong Shek Kayak Race 2014 will be held on 1 May 2014 (Thursday) at The Jockey Club Wong Shek Water Sports Centre. Applicants should submit their Application Forms to the centre from 15 to 23 March 2014 in person or by post to The Jockey Club Wong Shek Water Sports Centre or submit application forms through internet (except the Relay event). New Program Enrollment Method (Applicable to programs from January to March 2014)

In view of the fact that many of the elementary training courses organised by water sports centres on weekdays during the low season are not full, a trial measure will be introduced to make optimal use of resources and facilitate enrolment. With different enrolment dates, the elementary kayaking, sailing and windsurfing training courses to be held on weekdays between January and March 2014 will be open for enrolment on a first-come-first-served basis.

Details are as follows:

  • With effect from 18 June 2013, the advance booking period for bookings made via the Leisure Link will be shortened from 30 days to 10 days; and
  • The arrangement of submitting written bookings for a maximum of three months in advance will be cancelled at the same time.

Leisure and Cultural Services Department has already completed a thorough review on the sailing trip programmes organized by the LCSD water sports centres. With effective from 1st January 2011, the minimum entry requirement of sailing trip will be revised as below. The entry requirements for the other levels of sailing trips remain unchanged. Entry Requirement for Kayaking Sea Trips

Leisure and Cultural Services Department has already completed a thorough review on the kayaking sea trip programmes organized by the LCSD water sports centres. With effective from 1st December 2010, the minimum entry requirement of kayaking sea trip will be revised from holder of 1 Star Award to 3 Star Award or Kayak Elementary Certificate. The revision of the entry requirement for the rest of other levels of kayaking sea trips, please make reference from monthly programme sheets of water sports centres , related publicity materials or contact staff at any water sports centres.
