"Hurricane", a small kayak specially designed for youngsters, will be used to teach the basic kayaking skills. It is short, measuring 3.1 metres in length. Since it has a round-bilged hull, youngsters can move in a stable manner and manoeuvre the kayak more easily. Participants can therefore learn the basic skills more easily and their interest of learning can be enhanced.

The training programme comprises junior kayak sea star, sea horse, seal, sea lion, sea elephant award and 3 star award training course. Instructors will, through various games and activities, teach participants some basic paddling strokes so that they can manoeuver the crafts easily and move forward, sideways or backward as they like.
