* LCSD Venue Partnership Scheme
Preamble

The Venue Partnership Scheme is an arts development initiative to be introduced at the performing arts venues managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), as recommended in the Committee on Performing Arts Recommendation Report (I) issued in 2006.

The Scheme aims to foster a partnership between the venues and performing arts groups/organizations with the objectives of building up the artistic image and character of the venue, enlarging the audience base, optimizing usage of facilities, developing venue-based marketing strategies, facilitating the solicitation of corporate/private sponsorship, encouraging community involvement in the development of the arts and contributing to the healthy development of the performing arts scene.

A Committee on Venue Partnership has been formed since November 2006 to advise the LCSD on the implementation of the Scheme. The work of the Committee includes formulation of a detailed plan for the Scheme; assessment of proposals and selection of venue partners; evaluation and monitoring of the performance of venue partners during the partnership term and review of the Scheme.

Under the Scheme, venue partnership arrangements will be specifically designed for a specific facility or group of facilities in each venue, in order to cater for the needs of specific venues and art forms.

The LCSD hereby invites eligible performing arts groups/organizations to submit proposals for the Scheme.
