| Introduction |
Swimming is very popular in Hong Kong.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) takes an active role in the provision and management of
public swimming facilities.
At present there are 41 public bathing beaches, 37 public swimming
pools under the management of LCSD. Lifeguard service is provided
at all public swimming pools and 32 public bathing beaches.
Shark prevention nets are installed at 30 public bathing beaches.
However, swimmers still
have to take heed of water safety advice to avoid accidents.
