The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will organise the 2014 Sport For All Day on 3 August 2014 to further promote "Sport for All". On that day, a series of free recreation and sports programmes will be held at designated venues in the 18 districts, while most of the recreation and sports facilities will be open for free use by the public. This year's Sport For All Day will adopt the theme of "Rope Skipping for Health" to promote individual or group participation in skipping and other sports play-in activities, and to encourage family members to exercise together and lead healthy lifestyles.
To coincide with the final of the FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships 2014 held at the Hong Kong Coliseum, the 2014 Sport For All Day will feature group skipping play-ins at designated sports centres in the 18 districts for members of the public to enjoy the fun and health benefits of skipping at the same time. Organised by the Hong Kong Rope Skipping Association, China, and the Hong Kong College of Cardiology, this year's Championships attract more than 1100 top skippers from 20 countries over the world. As the host of the first-ever Championships to be staged in Asia, Hong Kong will be sending a record high of 160 athletes to compete in various individual and group events for the best results.
