According to BOCOG's guideline, Olympic Live Sites included seven activity zones:
- Giant TV Screen and Stage
A giant TV screen had set up for live broadcasts of the Olympic events and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games. Stage performances by local and overseas performing arts groups were also arranged to create a strong Olympic atmosphere.
- Entertainment and Activity Area
Various leisure activities had held, such as provision of the Olympic books corner, photo-taking corner with horse models, 3D play motion games, a great variety of game booths and an inflatable bouncing pool.
- Exhibition Area
Exhibitions were arranged for displaying information about the Games and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Relay in Hong Kong, and a wish-making corner and Fuwa photo-taking corner were provided.
- Fitness Area
Fitness tests, sports demonstration and play-in activities were provided for members of the public.
- Sale of Licensed Products Area
Souvenirs of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the licensed products of the Olympic Games were on display and for sale.
- Information Corner
Updated information about the events and results of the Beijing Olympic Games were provided.
- Food and Drinks Area
Drinks and snacks stalls had set up.
