Introduction:
The National Games of the People's Republic of China are organised by the General Administration of Sport of China with the aims of training young athletes and identifying sports talents. Held once every four years, the National Games are the highest level and the biggest multi-sport event in our country. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 50th Anniversary of the National Games. Elite athletes from nearly 50 delegations from all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China, and the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions as well as sports associations of various trades will gather in Shandong Province to compete in the 11th National Games.
Events:
There are a total of 33 events in the 11th National Games, namely swimming (diving, water polo and synchronised swimming), archery, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, canoeing (kayak slalom), cycling, equestrian (barrel racing), fencing, football, gymnastics (artistic gymnastics and trampoline), handball, hockey, judo, modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing (windsurfing), shooting, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball (beach volleyball), weightlifting, international wrestling, speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating, freestyle skiing and wushu (taolu and sanda).
