The Leisure and Cultural Services Department, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Recreation Management Association, were delighted to hold the 22nd IFPRA World Congress in 2010. The Congress had been held between 15 - 18 November 2010 at the Hong Kong City Hall, located in the Central District of Hong Kong, with easily accessible by all different types of transport.
For the 2010 World Congress, we were proud to invite professionals, academics, and all those involved in the fields of parks, recreation and tourism from all over the world to Hong Kong and joined this exciting event.
There was a balanced mix of 3 keynotes speeches, 37 parallel sessions, 3 round table sessions, 11 poster sessions, field trips etc in the Congress. Leading experts of different disciplines in leisure, recreation and tourism field gathered together, sharing their latest findings in research or management experiences in the sphere of parks, recreation and tourism.
The Congress theme was “Quality Services – Parks, Recreation and Tourism”.
Under the Congress theme, three sub-themes were discussed:

Hong Kong is a unique place where influences from the West and heritage of the East interact to produce a distinctive unique culture. Besides, it is also a “shoppers’ paradise” with a wide range of choices available at competitive prices. Hong Kong is famous for a wide selection of cuisine. Delegates who stayed in Hong Kong to attend the 22nd IFPRA World Congress, had had plenty of opportunities to experience the rich cultural attractions.
