The Cheering Team Competition for the 18 Districts is aimed at encouraging members of the public to give active support to the athletes from the 18 districts and creating a cheerful atmosphere for the 4th Hong Kong Games (HKG). Each District Council will form a cheering team to participate in the competition. Cheering team members will have the opportunities to bring their skills and talents into full play and vie for the awards at the competition. Moreover, they will lead the athletes of their respective districts into the Opening Ceremony of the 4th HKG and cheer for the athletes during the sports competitions. The Cheering Team Competition for the 18 Districts is an ideal community platform to showcase the local characteristics and vitality of the districts as well as to promote sporting culture.
