The 2nd Hong Kong Games – Badminton Elite Athletes' Demonstration and Exchange Highlights (1)

The 2nd Hong Kong Games – Badminton Elite Athletes' Demonstration and Exchange held at Lai Chi Kok Park Sports Centre on 22 March attracted about 100 athletes from the 18 districts who would participate in the Badminton Competition of the Games. A elite sport team comprising five men and five women, including HU Yun, CHAN Yun Lung, WONG Wing Ki, WONG Wai Hong, WIRATAMA Yohan Hadikusumo, CHAN Tsz Ka, KOON Wai Chee, MONG Kwan Yi, CHAU Hoi Wah, and CHAN Hung Yung, led by coaches LIU Zhi Heng and HE Yi Ming, conducted session to teach athletes basic skills and strategies of single and double events. There was also genuine chat between the elite athletes and the participants.

The 2nd Hong Kong Games – Badminton Elite Athletes' Demonstration and Exchange Highlights (2)

The 18 districts’ athletes took part in single and double matches with elite athletes to exchange skills, bringing the session to a climax. The 18 districts also sent athlete representatives to take part in "Serve Contest" which was greeted with enthusiasm. The contest ended with Kwai Ching and Yau Tsim Mong districts winning the champion and merit awards respectively.

Sports Instructor at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sports Medicine and Health Sciences Centre, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Mr HUNG Chi Chiu, was invited to give talks on physical fitness training. Participants benefited much from the talk and on-site demonstration.
