Yuen Long Park |
 |
The Yuen Long Park, which has a
total area of 7.5 hectares. It was open to the public in early 1991.
The park is located on a natural woodland
at Shui Ngau Ling adjacent to Shui Pin Tsuen, southwest of the Yuen
Long town centre, and in the vicinity of the Yuen Long Stadium and
the Yuen Long Swimming Pool.
Built on a hill, the park has retained, as much as possible, the
existing landform and trees to present a beautiful picture. There
are more than 800 trees scattered around the park. At the top of
the hill is a pagoda with its lower
level serving as an aviary and the upper levels as a lookout point
for visitors to enjoy a panoramic view of the Yuen Long town and
the new town of Tin Shui Wai. There is also an
exquisite ravine garden with a small footbridge and a stream
as well as an artificial lake and a cascade, where visitors can
enjoy themselves and have a good time. Other facilities in the park
include a turfed gateball court, soccer pitches, children's playground,
a fitness trail and a fountain plaza etc. All in all, it is a good
place for visitors to have fun. |
