The Park is accessible by KMB Bus routes 72A , 73, 73X, 75X, 271, 275R, 275S, 275, 74K, 75K, 71K, and 71S and MTR Feeder Bus route K17. Members of the public can also reach the Park by KMB Bus route 71K or a 30-minute walk from the Tai Po Market MTR Station. Visiting groups which take tour buses should contact the Park Office for boarding and alighting arrangements prior to the date of visit.

Visitors who drive to the Tai Po Waterfront Park may use the on-street metered parking spaces managed by the Transport Department or the fee-paying public car parks operated by private contractors in the vicinity of the main entrances and exits of the park (near Dai Fat Street, Dai Hei Street, Dai Kwai Street and Dai King Street).
