Status
Endangered. Listed under Appendix I of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

Behaviour Arboreal. Diurnal. Solitary for most of their lives, apart from brief periods when mating and when females are raising infants. Rarely leave the trees for the ground, swinging from branch to branch by the powerful hands. Sleep in large nests made with broken branches and foliage.

Diet Fruit, leaves, bark, birds' eggs, young birds and small lizards.
