Guided Visit to the Hong Kong Park Conservatory - Guidelines on the visit

1.  Visits will be cancelled when: -
  (a)  the Secretary for Education makes radio and television announcements that all schools will be closed due to inclement weather (e.g. typhoon or rainstorm);
  (b)  a tropical cyclone warning signal no.3 or above is issued;
  (c)  a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued;
  (d)  a thunderstorm forecast/warning is issued (for outdoor facilities); or
  (e)  the Environmental Protection Department announces the health risk of the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) reaches "Serious" level in the district where the activities are conducted (AQHI scale of 10+)
2.  School members should arrive at the designated meeting place 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
3.  School members may continue their activities in the Park after the guided visits.
4.  The number of students for each visit should be restricted from 20 to 30 and they should be accompanied by at least 2 teachers.
5.  Schools should be responsible for their studentsˇ¦ safety and arrange for their transportation.
6.  Use of loudspeakers is not allowed during the visit to avoid causing disturbance to visitors and animals in the Park.
7.  Students should bring their own bottled drinks so as to keep the venue clean.
8.  Students should wear long trousers and bring along with their caps, raincoats and mosquito repellent spray/cream.
9.  Students should not run around or make excessive noises.
10.  Schools should read all relevant regulations contained in school circulars as well as the latest ˇ§Guidelines on Outdoor Activitiesˇ¨ issued by the Education Bureau before the visits. Teachers should brief pupils on the objectives of the visits and the regulations / guidelines to be observed.
