Humid Plant House exhibits comprise a wide variety of Bromeliades, ferns, palms and insectivorous and jungle foliage plants from South Africa, Southeast Asia and America. The exhibits are arranged in zonal groups according to their places of origin.
The temperature will be maintained at 33ºC maximum and 23ºC minimum through an automatic heating and cooling system.
An automatic fogging system installed on upper level produces a layer of floating water vapour beneath the glazed cover. The fine vapour, on evaporation, absorbs much of the solar energy and can be removed through vents at the roof level.
During the hot season, cool air will be pumped through air ducts to the footpath so that visitors will enjoy exhibits comfortably.
