Scheme on Letting out of LCSD Restaurant, Kiosk and Pro Shop Contract by Disabled Organisations

This Department co-organised the subject scheme with Social Welfare Department. Eight LCSD venues with contracts for letting out restaurant, kiosk and pro shop of were selected for restricted tendering by government subvented non-profit making organisations with experience and expertise in serving the people with disabilities.

This scheme aims at creating more employment opportunity for the people with disabilities as well as to provide a training ground for those disabled persons to integrate into the society.

The Government has long been encouraging the people with disabilities to equip themselves with vocational skills and to integrate into the society. As such, this Department together with Social Welfare Department selected eight restaurant, kiosk and pro shop contracts of LCSD venues for running by these disabled organisations by means of restricted tenders, so as to provide more job and on-job training opportunities for the people with disabilities. In order to enhance the effectiveness of the scheme, the Social Welfare Department has selected some eligible organisations from the list of government subvented non-profit making organisations to join the scheme. Those selected organisations should have experience and expertise in serving the people with disabilities and actively involved in welfare and charity activities for at least five years. These organisations should also have sufficient financial and management support.

The eight venues involved including parks and sports facilities. They are all easily accessible by the people with disabilities, details are as follow:
