Purpose
The purpose of the Physical Fitness Test for the Community is to set up a database on the physical fitness of Hong Kong people; to identify the relationship between the physical exercise pattern and physical fitness of Hong Kong people and the priority measures to enhance the overall physical fitness of the public; as well as to give the individual participants a general understanding of their own physical fitness condition.
Definition of Physique
Physique refers to the mass of a body, which is the physical basis of health, while health is the outward expression of the mass. The two are inseparable. Physique is affected by both genetic and acquired factors. In broad sense, the human body shape, physiological functions, physical quality (or level of physical fitness), athletic capability, immunity and psychological quality are all constituents of physical fitness.
Physical Fitness Test and Body Check
General speaking, physical fitness test and body check are both measurements for human health, but they differ in terms of the indicators of measurements and the measurements used for the tests. Physical fitness test is generally conducted by professionally trained Physical Education, Physical Fitness and Sports professionals, whereas body check is usually conducted by doctors, nurses and other professionals who have received relevant training. Physical Fitness Test for the Community covers three broad areas, namely physical measurements, cardio-respiratory function, and fitness performance.
