The Physical Fitness Test for the Community (the Test) aims to enhance public awareness of the importance of regular physical exercise to the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle and to develop a strong sporting culture in the community, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will conduct the Test in the hope of:
- enabling participants to have a general understanding of their own fitness condition;
- setting up a database on the physical condition of Hong Kong people; and
- identifying the correlation between the physical exercise pattern and the physical condition of Hong Kong people.

The Test will be conducted from November 2005 to February 2006 at designated LCSD venues.

|
People aged between 3 and 69 are welcomed. The test is free of charge.
|
 |
|
Interested parties should complete and bring along the "PAR-Q & You" to the designated LCSD venues for enrollment on a first-come-first-served basis, according to the quota of the test day.

Result of the Fitness Test |
Participants will be given a result record card of the physical fitness test, a souvenir and a complimentary Healthy Exercise for All Campaign VCD after the test. Qualified fitness instructor(s) will also be available on site to answer enquiries.

Tips for attending the Fitness Test |
Before the test, consult your doctor or a medical professional to ensure your physical condition is suitable for taking part in the test. In addition, you are strongly advised to adhere to the following suggestions:
- Put on appropriate sportswear and sports shoes*;
- Do sufficient warm-up and cool-down exercises before and after the test;
- No full or empty stomach before the fitness test; and
- Stop immediately and seek medical assistance if you feel unwell during the test.

* Appropriate sportswear means an upper garment and a pair of sports pants that are loose and can be easily rolled up or folded.
