    Note: The internal dimensions of the pots of all entries in Classes 61-68 should not exceed 900mm in length; 630mm in width; and 700mm in depth.

  • SECTION VIII
    FLORAL ARRANGEMENT IN WESTERN STYLE
    • Exhibitors are requested to arrange their exhibits at the showground from 9am to 9pm on March 9, 2005. No pre-arranged exhibits will be accepted.
    • All arrangements will be shown on and against a beige background.
    • Exhibitors for all classes of this section must comply with the following rules:
      (1)   An exhibit must be composed of natural plant material and be confined within the space specified in the show schedule.
      (2)   The cut stems of all living plant material must be placed in water or water retaining material with the exception of strong fibrous stems, which will remain turgid throughout the duration of the show period.
      (3)   No artificial plant material shall be used.
      (4)   The exhibit must be within the dimension specified and displayed on the table provided (750mm from ground unless otherwise stated).
      (5)   Accessories are allowed unless otherwise stated.
      (6)   The exhibits must be arranged without help from other competitors or non-competitors, unless otherwise stated.
    • Exhibitors must pay particular attention to the rules applying to each class in respect of :
      (1) What kind of plant material is allowed.
      (2) Whether or not accessories are allowed.
    • An exhibitor is allowed to enter a maximum of any three classes of the section.
    • Failure to comply with any of the rules will lead to disqualification.
    Class 70 A Midsummer Night's Dream (仲夏夜之夢)
    • A miniature exhibit
    • Space allowed:
      Width: 100mm Depth: 100mm Height: 100mm
    • Wooden shelf will be provided for the display.
    Class 71 Blissfully Happy (心花怒放)
    (Novice Class)
    • Space allowed:
      Width: 750mm Depth: 750mm Height: 1000mm
    Class 72 Sunset Blossom (夕陽無限好)
    • Rose exhibit
    • Space allowed:
      Width: 750mm Depth: 750mm Height: 1000mm
    • An exhibit of roses and foliage incorporating an accessory.
    Class 73 Faraway Places (在那遙遠的地方)
    • Space allowed:
      Width: 750mm Depth: 750mm Height: 1000mm
    Class 74 Come Fly with Me (興我共翔)
    • A pedestal exhibit
    • Space allowed:
      Width: 1220mm Depth: 1220mm Height: 2130mm
    • To be staged on a platform (100mm measuring from ground level).
    • Exhibits are to be viewed from three sides.
    • More than one group of arrangement may be included in the exhibit.
    • Pedestal: An exhibit raised on one or more plinths, columns or stands. Subsidiary group of arrangement of plant material and/or accessories may be used, all to be provided by exhibitors.
    • For this class only, the exhibitor may have one but no more than two helpers.
    • Number of entries will be limited to 12. (No entry will be accepted once the quota has been filled.)

  • SECTION IX
    FLORAL ARRANGEMENT IN ORIENTAL MANNER
    • Exhibitors are requested to arrange their exhibits at the showground from 9am to 9pm on March 9, 2005. No pre-arranged exhibits will be accepted.
    • All arrangements will be shown on and against a beige background.
    • Exhibitors for all classes of this section must comply with the following rules:
      (1)   The cut ends of all living plant materials must be placed in water. Oasis is not acceptable.
      (2)   No artificial flowers, leaves or plant materials shall be used.
      (3)   The exhibit must be within the space specified and displayed on the table.
      (4)   Use of accessories is only allowed when specified.
      (5)   The exhibits must be arranged without help from other competitors or non-competitors.
    • Failure to comply with any of the rules will lead to disqualification.
    Class 75 Dances of the Flowers (花之舞姿)
    (Novice Class)
    • An exhibit of any type of plant or floral material
    • No accessories allowed.
    • Overall dimension of arrangement must not exceed:
      Width: 820mm Depth: 750mm Height: 1000mm
    Class 76 Snow Fantasies (雪的幻想)
    • An exhibit of any type of plant or floral material.
    • Accessories allowed.
    • Overall dimension of arrangement must not exceed:

    Class 77 Painting a Rainbow (畫出彩虹)
    • An exhibit of any type of plant or floral material.
    • Accessories allowed.

    Class 78 Reverie in Serenity (靜的遐思)
    • An exhibit of any type of plant or floral material.
    • No accessories allowed.

  • SECTION X
    FLORAL ART BY SCHOOL CHILDREN
    • Exhibitors are requested to arrange their exhibits at the showground from 9am to 9pm on March 9, 2005. No pre-arranged exhibits will be accepted.
    • Exhibitors are requested to indicate the name of their schools on the entry form.
    • All arrangements must include flower(s). No artificial plants are allowed. Flowers, containers and accessories must be provided by the exhibitors themselves.
    • All arrangements will be shown on and against a beige background.
    • Number of entries is limited to 100. The maximum number of entries submitted by each school is restricted to six. In the event of over-subscription, acceptance will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Only one entry is allowed for each exhibitor.
    • Each entry must be arranged by one exhibitor only. Teachers and parents are not allowed to enter the designated competition areas.
    • Exhibitors will not be allowed to arrange their exhibits based on prepared layouts or photographs of floral art.
    Class 79 The Joy of Study (讀書樂)
    Class 80 Sails in the Fragrant Harbour (香江帆影)
    • The two classes above are for school children under the age of 12 years old. All entries should be the original and unaided work of pupils.
    • Overall dimension of arrangement must not exceed:
    • Width: 600mm Depth: 750mm Height: 750mm
    Class 81 Indomitable Spirit (百折不撓)
    Class 82 The Harmonious Melody (和諧旋律)
    • The two classes above are for school children of 12-16 years old. All entries should be the original and unaided work of pupils.
    • Overall dimension of arrangement must not exceed:
    • Width: 600mm Depth: 750mm Height: 750 mm

  • SECTION XI
    PRIMARY SCHOOL POTTED PLANT GROWING/NURSING COMPETITION
    • Entry must be submitted by school.
    • Participating schools may send in their exhibits to the following collection centres on March 8, 2005 from 9am to 6pm:
      (1) Boundary Street Nursery
      (2) Sha Tin Sports Ground
      (3) Kwai Chung Sports Ground
      (4) Tuen Mun Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground;
      or to be delivered to the showground from 9am to 9pm on March 9, 2005.
    • All planting work must be done by students themselves.
    • The number of entries from each participating school is limited to three per sub-class. Each school is regarded as one entry.

    • Entry must be submitted by school.

    SCHOOL GARDEN PLOT COMPETITION
    • Entry must be submitted by school.
    • If the number of entry falls below 5, this Competition will be cancelled.
    • Area of each school garden plot is 2m x 3m.
    • Flowers, containers and accessories must be provided by the exhibitors themselves.
    • No artificial flowers and leaves shall be used.
    • Participating schools are required to construct their garden plots at the showground within the time specified below:

    LCSD ORIENTAL STYLE GARDEN PLOT COMPETITION
    Class 89 LCSD Oriental Style Garden Plot Competition
    • Garden Plots will be constructed for competition inside the showground.
    • Size: 5m x 7m
    • The section is open only to Leisure Services District Offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
