Swallowtails in Urban Parks
Swallowtails are large size butterflies. Wings are mainly black with simple colour patterns. Wing tails are always found on their hindwings. Flying speed is high. Like visiting flowers for nectar.

Large size. Common and can be seen all year round. Looks like Tigers and Crows. Distinguishing feature is the yellow markings along the outer margin of its hindwings.

Medium size. Very common and can be seen in spring, summer and autumn. Very active, flies extremely fast and seldom stops.

Medium size. Common and can be seen in spring, summer and autumn. Comparatively easy to be observed. Similar to Common Bluebottle, but markings on the wings of Common Jay are more numerous and fragmented.

Medium size. Very common and can be seen in spring, summer and autumn. Very active, can only be approached when it is feeding on flowers or drinking on wet soil.

Large size. Common and can be seen all year round. Similar to Spangle, but male Great Mormon has red spots at the base of the wings and has rounder hindwings.

Large size. Common and can be seen all year round. A very large butterfly, P. memnon f. agenor is much more frequently seen than P. memnon f. achates.
Red Helen

Large size. Very common and can be seen all year round. Distinguishing feature is the large white patch on its hindwings.
Spangle
(Papilio protenor)

Large size. Very common and can be seen all year round. Similar to male Great Mormon, but Spangle has more elongated hindwings.
