The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is holding the New Territories East Lunar New Year Lantern Carnival at Po Tsui Park in Tseung Kwan O tonight (February 15) in celebration of the Spring Lantern Festival. The event features spectacular lantern displays and a range of entertainment.
The main attractions of the carnival include spectacular folk songs and dances, instrumental performances and Chinese operatic songs by the Anhui Arts Troupe, as well as Chinese folk crafts demonstrations such as paper-cutting, embroidery and the making of silver ornaments, and traditional lantern making by arts and crafts masters from Guangdong and Hong Kong. Other programmes including performances by youth organisations, magic shows, acrobatics, puppetry, handicrafts workshops and a lantern quiz are equally attractive.
