SHA congratulates Hong Kong golf athletes on winning silver medal at 12th National Games

The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hong Kong golf athletes on winning a silver medal today (September 9) in the Golf Men's Team event at the 12th National Games in Liaoning Province.

Commending their remarkable performance, Mr Tsang said, "With their unswerving efforts and unflinching determination, Hong Kong athletes have once again achieved excellent results in the National Games. We are very proud of their outstanding achievements."

So far the Hong Kong delegation has won one gold medal, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the 12th National Games.

Note: According to the National Games' award mechanism and score system, medals for rugby are counted as double, so the silver medal won by the Hong Kong rugby team is taken as two by the organiser and its official website indicates that the Hong Kong delegation so far has won four silver medals.

Ends/Monday, September 9, 2013
