The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the Community Thematic Carnival Series event "BlendNew Youth Gala" at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza this Sunday (July 14) from 5pm to 8pm. Featuring dances, music and crossover performances by young artists and groups, the Gala will offer members of the public something fresh and new to liven up the afternoon. Admission to all programmes is free.

On the main stage at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza, the acclaimed tap dancers Sarah Reich, Lee How and Nico Rubio from the United States will join local professional tap dancers to present an energetic performance to the accompaniment of live music. In addition, there will be tap dance performances by over 50 children and youths and the band Supper Moment will sing pop songs.

Various crossover performances including percussion and skateboarding will also take place at the Gala, with caricature artist Cuson Lo sharing the stage with pop band ToNick, and the a cappella group HolicK performing alongside sand painting artist Hoi Chiu. In addition, Rhythm House, a group comprising graduates of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, will add different musical instruments to drum and electronic music to create a new style of classical music. Moreover, over 100 youths from New Territories East will stage hip hop, jazz and street dances as well as instrumental performances in the City Art Square.

"BlendNew Youth Gala" is part of the International Arts Carnival (IAC)'s New Generation Series. IAC is also one of the events under the "Vibrant Hong Kong" theme of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign. For more details please visit the webpage:
