The annual Hong Kong Youth Music Camp aims to enhance the performance skills of young musicians through intensive training in a summer camp and to cultivate an interest in music among the public. Around 400 residential campers receive training under the symphony orchestras, Chinese orchestras, symphonic bands, string orchestras, or choirs. Eminent musicians from the Mainland and overseas join staff of the Music Office to provide training in the camp. To foster international cultural exchange, a number of residential places are reserved for young musicians from other cities. Non-residential campers are also welcome to join the day camp programmes for the diverse music appreciation events and recreational activities.
Application for Hong Kong Youth Music Camp begins in March every year.
