Music Office 40th Anniversary Gala

The Music Office 40th Anniversary Annual Gala is a massive music celebration of aspiring musicians and alumni from its bands, choirs and orchestras to perform. Awards will also be presented in the Gala to the most outstanding trainees and members of its bands, choirs and orchestras of 2015/16.

The Gala is a festive kaleidoscope of musical styles, with highlights including Sparkling Fireworks Grace the Fragrant City where hundred pipa players participate; “The Sun” from The Age of the Dragon where Chinese and Western percussions encounter; sedate choral classic Even When He is Silent; brass quintet, percussion and wind ensemble demonstrated in Quintessence II, 1st movement and the playful Paper Cut where papers literally sing with winds. The Gala will also feature Elgar’s classic favourite Introduction and Allegro, and the percussion and orchestral masterpiece Rhapsody for Solo Percussion and Orchestra by Rosauro.
