NON-CIVIL SERVICE VACANCY

Assistant Music Officer (Activities & Promotion)

Salary: HK$ 22,665 per month

Entry Requirements¡R
(a) A diploma in music from a recognized tertiary institution; or Associate/ Licentiate/Fellowship diploma conferred by a recognized music institution through public examination, or equivalent;
(b) Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [note], or equivalent;
(c) Fluent Cantonese and good written and spoken Chinese and English; and
(d) Higher academic qualification and/or work experience in arts administration preferred.

(Note: For non-civil service appointment purpose, ¡§Grade E¡¨ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ¡§Level 2¡¨ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.)

Duties:
Organizing music activities including Outreach Interest Classes; assisting in promoting Music Office activities and services; acting as a representative of Music Office in liaising with organizations on music promotional matters; undertaking administrative duties; supervising full-time and part-time staff; and managing ensembles and library of the Music Office.
(Required to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and Public Holidays.)

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of two years.

Fringe Benefits: A gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Department's contribution to an MPF Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(iii) The title of job applied should be clearly stated on the application form. Applicants who cannot provide sufficient information for proof of his/ her meeting the entry requirement for the post(s) he/ she applies will not be considered.
