Indoor Stadia

The 12 500-seat Hong Kong Coliseum and the 3 500-seat Queen Elizabeth Stadium are two premier multi-purpose indoor stadia in Hong Kong that offer high flexibility in staging and seating configurations to suit a variety of events, such as international sporting events and tournaments, concerts for both pop and classical music, spectacular entertainment events, major celebrations, and ceremonial events.

Hong Kong Coliseum

A good number of renowned pop singers performed at the coliseum during the year including local artists G.E.M., Justin, Joyce Cheng, Mark Lui and Friends, Eason Chan, Frances Yip, Elisa Chan, Maria Cordero, Denise Ho, Ekin Cheng and Jordan Chan, Khalil Fong, Alan Tam and Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, Softhard, Paula Tsui, Anthony Wong, C AllStar, Ronald Ng and Friends; and overseas arts groups Sodagreen, Mayday, S.H.E. and artists A Yue, A Lin, Jay Chou, Fei Yu Qing, JJ Lin, Tsai Chin and Cheer Chen. Other attractions included Jim Chim and Lo Hoi Pang Stand Up Comedy, Gala Spectacular, The Voice of China, a variety show in Celebration of the 64th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China, a public talk by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, Celebration of the Lord Buddhas’ Birthday, The Greater Repentance Dharma Function and the Three Refuge Five Precepts Ceremony. International sports events held at the Coliseum this year included the FIVB World Volleyball Grand Prix – Hong Kong 2013, the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2013 (part of the BWF World Superseries), and the World Hong Kong Luminous Dragon and Lion Dance Championships 2014.

During the year, the 40 events held at the coliseum attracted 1 462 900 spectators.

During the year, major sporting events held at the stadium included the Hong Kong Silver Shield Basketball Championship 2013, the 56th Festival of Sport – Hong Kong Powerlifting Championship 2013, the 26th Table Tennis Asian Cup 2013, the 1st International Traditional Wushu Championship 2013, the Hong Kong Gymnastics For All Festival 2013, the China Dancesport Open Series 2013 (Hong Kong), the Hong Kong Basketball League 2013, the 2013 Hong Kong Bodybuilding Championships cum South China Invitational Championships, the Hong Kong Annual Badminton Championships – Finals cum Award Presentation Ceremony of Senior Division, the 2013 Hong Kong Junior & Cadet Open - ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Premium Junior Circuit, the 2013 ADSF Asian DanceSport Single Dance Championships, the 50th Schools Dance Festival - DanceSport, the 57th Festival of Sport - Open Ceremony, and the ‘20 years of Inheritance’ Hong Kong Rhythmic Gymnastics Festival for the Elderly 2014.

Cultural events held at the stadium included the Hong Kong International Youth and Children’s Choir Festival Opening Concert, Emperor’s Voices - Club For Five Concert I and Concert II, the China Da Xiang Guo Temple Buddha Orchestra Music Concert, The Guitar Legacy, the 2013 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows - Symphonic Band Contest, a family programme of the International Arts Carnival 2013 – Summer Fun Party 2013: Adventure in Animal Kingdom, the Hong Kong Marching Band Contest 2013, the 2013 Hong Kong Marching Band Festival, and the 2014 International a cappella Extravaganza.

Entertainment events included the pop concerts Music Farm 25th Anniversary Albert & Friends in Concert 2013, the Rowena & Louie Reunited Charity Concert, the Cheng Kam Cheong Concert, Ellen Loo & The Ripples Band - ‘V’ Live, the Anthony Lun One Voice Ten Fingers Concert, the Lam & Lam Hear with Love Concert 2013, the Rock Angel Power Band Festival, the Andrew & Peter in Charity Concert, and the Louis Yuen Live in Concert; and stand-up comedy shows RockaSammy by Sammy Leung, and One Night Stand by Cheuk Wan Chi.

During the year, the stadium hosted 133 events, which attracted a total of 374 900 spectators.
