The Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games

The Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games was held from November 12 to 27, 2010. The HKSARG sent a delegation of 395 athletes and 152 officials. Hong Kong athletes, who competed in 34 sports events, won a total of 40 medals, comprising eight gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze. To commend their outstanding performance, a Celebration Reception, jointly organised by the HKSARG and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), was held at Chater Garden in Central on December 1, 2010.

The Guangzhou 2010 Asian Para Games was held from December 12 to 19, 2010. The HKSAR Delegation comprised 107 athletes and 61 officials. Our athletes competed in 14 sports events, winning a total of 28 medals - five gold, nine silver and 14 bronze. A welcome home ceremony was held for them at The Royal Pacific Hotel Towers’ Waterfront, China Hong Kong City, Tsim Sha Tsui on December 20, 2010.
