The Olympic Games that take place every four years has been a hot issue in town. Hong Kong is proud to have co-hosted the Equestrian Events in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. With such an exciting event happened in the city, this has aroused intense public interest in various kinds of sports. Taking this opportunity, the "Sports Arena" exhibition would introduce the sciences in this field.
The "Sports Arena" exhibition provides a series of interactive exhibits for you to experience the enjoyment of sports and understand the principles behind them. As you take a low jump from "Land Like a Cat" to measure the force of your landing, you will realise that even distribution of the impact at landing helps athletes reduce their risk of serious injury. Walking involves a lot of fancy footwork and crawling as a baby helps you walk as you grow up. You can observe your walking posture at "See Yourself Walk". You can also join a "Sportschair Race" on a specially designed wheelchair. You will discover that a little push on the inner rim will go a long way. The "Supermarket" is stocked with various kinds of food for kids to play pretend shopping. They will learn about nutrition and health, and how to maintain a balanced diet.
Through hands-on participation, you can get to know the nature of sports and appreciate their benefits on health. A healthy lifestyle is all you need to maintain physical and mental wellness. Now put on your sneakers and have fun in this dynamic exhibition!
