Exhibition on 60 Years of Public Housing Development in Hong Kong
“Growing up with Public Housing”

Over the past few decades, the basic resettlement blocks of the 1950s have evolved to housing estates with quality designs and comprehensive facilities that provide homes for people of Hong Kong. Today, over three million people live in public rental housing or subsidised home ownership flats, thus benefiting from the public housing programme.

To mark the 60th anniversary of public housing development in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, in collaboration with the Antiquities and Monuments Office and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, has organised an exhibition entitled “Growing up with Public Housing”.

The exhibition reviews the major developments of the public housing programme, and how they have contributed to improving the quality of life for so many people, and to building a stable and progressive society.
