Winner of the "Laurence Tam Memorial Art Award – Visitor's Choice"
Sponsored by The Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art

The "Laurence Tam Memorial Art Award – Visitor's Choice" voting activity had been very well received. There were 1,911 votes cast by visitors during the "Hong Kong Contemporary Art Awards (HKCAA) 2012" Exhibition (4 October 2013 to 5 January 2014). The Hong Kong Museum of Art would like to express our sincere gratitude to those who had voted and supported our activity!

Having received the highest number of votes, the artwork A Bubble Sculpture of My Breath by Chow Man-hing won the "Laurence Tam Memorial Art Award – Visitor's Choice". A total of 150 voters had selected Chow's work as their favourite artwork among the 83 selected entries in the exhibition.

On 13 March 2014, Mrs Nancy Lee, Chairman of The Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the sponsoring organisation, presented the award to the winning artist, Chow Man-hing, with a certificate and a study grant of HK$25,000 for overseas visit and cultural exchange. Chow expressed his thanks to the voters for their support and his wish to make use of this grant to create more artworks with meaningful and positive messages.

At the award presentation, 5 voters were selected by Chow through a random draw. These lucky voters will receive the exhibition catalogue of "HKCAA 2012" as souvenir. The Museum will contact the 5 lucky voters in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to Chow and the 5 lucky voters!
