Alex Law and Mabel Cheung's romance about familiar strangers in a strange land stars Cherie Chung as Jenny, a young woman who moves to New York City for school and discovers her longtime boyfriend (pop singer Danny Chan) has been cheating on her all along. Heartbroken in a new city, she has no one to count on but her distant cousin Samuel (Chow Yun-fat, in one of his greatest performances), a vulgar Chinatown restaurant owner who is actually a rather nice guy deep down. Like all great screen odd couples, Jenny and Samuel eventually fight their way into an unspoken bond that may even be love. Whether it's Chow Yun-fat's hilarious one-liners, Lowell Lo's poignant score or that heartwarming final line, every film lover in Hong Kong has a favorite moment from this timeless romance classic.
