Yet another side of the versatile Leung So-kam is on display in The Lucky Pal . In this city comedy based on a novel by popular author Yeung Tin-sing, she plays a spinster who has a crush on a bachelor (the magnificent comedian Leung Sing-po), who nonetheless is interested in a beautiful girl from Macau (Patricia Lam Fung), who in turn loves another man (Woo Fung)… Leung, donning thick glasses and wearing drab clothing, dutifully fulfills the stereotype of the role, and manages to infuse it with humanity and humor.
